Jean Archer

Jean Archer passed away June 20, 2018. She was born August 9, 1922, in Rowan, Iowa, to Cecil and Mae Myers.

Jean was the first female State Auditor for the State of Iowa. She married George H. Archer on May 25, 2011.

Jean is survived by her loving husband, George H. Archer; son, Marshall (Janet) Pearson; step-children, George Archer, Dean Archer, Mariruth Sample, Tony Ellis, and John Ellis; two grandchildren, Dr. Matthew (Dr. DeLinda) Pearson and Jennifer (Christopher) Evans; many step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter, many step-great-grandchildren, and step-daughter-in-law, Sharon Ellis. She was preceded in death by her step-son, Don Ellis, step-daughter, Donna Diane Wilkins, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, with visitation beginning 1 hour prior to service time, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
