Leo Joseph Azinger, 84, was born May 13, 1934 in Keokuk, the son of Leo and Carrie (Moslander) Azinger. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Bonnie; children, Christine Larsen, Robin (Tom) Hay, Bryan (Rita) Groomes and John (Courtney) Groomes; seven grandchildren, Eric Hay, Chad Hay, Joseph Hay, Bryan Groomes, Emily Groomes, Shawn Larsen and Shalane Larsen; seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Brinley, Nevaeh, Alison, Miles, Kaylee and Kody; siblings, Carolyn (Bob) Burns, Janet (Ron) Canida, Tom (Linda) Azinger and Grace Azinger; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Hauge, Ruth Azinger and Jim Azinger and his son-in-law, Randall Larsen.

The family will greet friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
