Jerry L. Britt passed away from prostate cancer on April 1, 2018, at Taylor House Hospice. He was born October 28, 1937, in Des Moines, to Roscoe and Lorene Britt.
Jerry retired from The Weitz Company after 20 years of service and was a member of Laborers Union Local 177. He enjoyed buying and selling cattle, fishing, and gardening.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pat; children, Steve (Kathie) Britt and Patty Britt; grandchildren, Brittany Dudley, Lauren Dudley, and Alex Dudley; sister, Annie Sudrock; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Britt and Sharon Jaeger; brother-in-law, Ronnie Dorothy; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Britt, Tom Britt, Gene Britt and Mike Britt; as well as sisters, Judy Anderson and Patti Dorothy.
There will be a Celebration of Life with a reception/potluck on Sunday April 29, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mitchellville Community Center, 114 2nd St NE, Mitchelleville.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Jerry.

I'm sorry for your loss. At times like this we underestimate the power that prayer can have, but God gives us the comfort we need if we ask for it. I invite you to read a scripture that has helped me in so many situations, I think it can help you as well. (Philippians 4: 6,7)
