Norman R. Current

Norman was born March 27, 1932 to Charles and Mary (Williamson) Current and passed away at home April 1, 2018. He graduated from Attica High School and attended Drake University. He married Opal Lane Maikos September 17, 1960. Norman was in the used car business, owning Carriage & Coach Autoland, Inc. Upon retirement he continued to wholesale automobiles. Gardening gave him immense pleasure and there was nothing more satisfying to Norman than giving most of the resulting produce to friends and neighbors. He enjoyed horse racing, the Cubs, and all football games. He attended Oakwood UMC in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

A visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home on Lyon from 5 to 7pm, Thursday, April 5th. A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 6th at Oakwood UMC in Pleasant Hill at 11am with grave-side service at Lincoln Cemetery in Marion County at 2pm.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Odessa, Helen, Charles, David, Elizabeth and Clifford, and children Jeffrey and Susan. He is survived by his wife Opal, son Ronald, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and brother Donald.
