Judy Henely

Judy Henely, 61, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Taylor House. The visitation will be on Thursday evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home from 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Catherine of Siena in Des Moines on Friday at 10 a.m.
Judy Henely was born April 1, 1945 to Richard and Arline Becker of Ossian, Iowa. She attended the University of N. Iowa and the University of Minnesota to receive her medical technician’s license. She was married to Dan Frommelt from 1966-1991 and they raised three children in DSM. On February 14th, 1995, she and Richard Henely were married. Judy worked for nearly 40 years as a lab technician at NW Hospital, Charter Hospital and Urbandale Family Physicians. Judy loved life and most importantly her family and friends. She gave of herself and accepted all people unconditionally. Judy found many life long friendships through her neighbors, co-workers, and St. Anne’s Mother’s Club. Judy spent much of her time at Grays Lake and Waterworks Park. She also loved being with friends on the golf course, traveling with her husband, or visiting her mother in Bella Vista, AR.
Judy is survived by her husband, Richard Henely; her mother, Arline Becker; her three children, Chris Frommelt (Michele), Andrea Frommelt Williams (Chris), Emily Frommelt Gross (Justin); four step-children, Sean Henely (Jessica), Doug Henely, Scott Henely (Dawn), Brad Henely (Sonya); her grandchildren, Colin, Abby and Dylan Frommelt, George Williams, Katie and Emmy Henely, Karmin Henely, Evelyn Henely and Jack Henely; her siblings, Ron Becker (Mae), and Patricia Becker McDonald (Rick).
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions should be given to St. Catherine of Siena El Salvador fund or the Judy Henely Grays Lake Recreation Programming Fund to be sent to Des Moines Parks & Recreation.
