Nina Shiner Sherman

Nina Shiner Sherman, 74, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Kavanagh Hospice House. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines, a visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Monday evening from 4-8 p.m.
Nina was born May 20, 1933 to Guy and Frances Newman. Nina enjoyed traveling, reading, camping, and spending time with her family. Nina was very proud of her companion, Squirt, her dog.
Nina is survived by her children; Becky Magalski, Theodore, Jeffrey, Vincent, Darryl, Mike, Carol, Richard, Victoria, John, Reese, Harold Sherman, Stephen, and Ann Israel; daughter-in-law, Nancy; sisters, Maxine and Riddie; 34 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Nina was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore Shiner and her second husband, Harold A. Sherman; children, Gregory, Sara LaCoe, Larry, Clark and one infant son; brother, Anson, and sister, Clara.
