Erik Paul

Erik Donald Paul - Briggle, 38, son of Virginia Paul and Donald Briggle, left this life to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center after losing his battle to pneumonia and influenza. Erik also suffered from spina bifida, but never complained.

Erik was born November 14, 1979, and graduated from Hoover High School where he participated in baseball and bowling with Special Olympics. Erik also enjoyed Bike Night, concerts, going to Prairie Meadows, and spending time with his family and friends.

Erik worked at the YMCA for more than 15 years and a short time at the VA Hospital. Erik never met a stranger and did most of his socializing through Facebook. He adored his nieces and nephews and always told everyone how much he loved them.

Erik was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Paul, grandparents, Murrel and Evelyn Briggle and Kenny and Wilma Lowe.

Erik leaves to mourn his father, Donald Briggle and Penny; sister, Kari Ann Dent and Bill; step-mother, Deanna Briggle; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

There will be a visitation from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
