Michael Carpenter

Mike Carpenter, 51, passed away January 15, 2018, at his home in Altoona, Iowa. He was born April 3, 1966, in Des Moines, to Richard and Mary (McGrean) Carpenter.
Mike was a truck driver, most recently for Mid-American Logistics Group. He also worked as an Executive Chef at the Funny Bone Comedy Club and as a Sous Chef for Adventureland.
Mike loved motorcycles and guitars. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Iowa State Cyclones, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, and playing mobile games.
Mike will be remembered as a prankster and for his sarcastic nature. He was passionate about serving his community and he loved feeding the homeless with Biker Mark Ministries.
Mike is survived by his wife of 22 years, Tracy; children, Emily Carpenter and her boyfriend Austin LaRue, Shaun Carpenter and his wife Krystal, and Tommy Carpenter; granddaughter, Harper Carpenter; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as his beloved grand dogs, Shadow and Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Richard, and brother, Richard Carpenter, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Luther Memorial Church, 1201 Grandview Avenue in Des Moines, officiated by Pastor Bykrmark Carver.

I just keep thinking if I re-read Mikes Facebook or if I look again that this just wont be real. I had such a great conversation with him on Friday about riding Harleys this summer and was so happy to be seeing his face again at work. I am so sorry for your loss.
