Elsie Wheeler

Elsie Wheeler, 85 passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:30pm Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Entombment will follow at the Masonic Mausoleum.
Elsie was born September 11, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. She retired from the Des Moines Register as an advertising account executive. Elsie was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, the Lady of the Snows, and St Jude.
She celebrated 25 years of total retirement with her husband, Elsie enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Elsie is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence, her sons, Dorn P. and Niel P. Brankis, her step-children, Christine Wheeler-Wion and Brian Wheeler; her five grandchildren and her three great grandchildren, her brother, Thomas Senkerik.
