Sharon Raitt was born in Des Moines on March 24, 1952, the daughter of Silvie and Margaret Sanford. She passed away October 8, 2017.
Sharon was a daycare provider for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Sharon is survived by her husband, John Raitt; son, Joe (Becky) Morgan; daughters, Brandi (Scott) Ross, Jamie (Shaun) Houser and Jennifer (Seth) Walker; grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas, Dawson, Parker, Carter, Hunter, Griffin, Thayda, Taylor, Haelynn, and Ruth; sisters, Cookie Hood and Linda Woods; as well as other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Stacy Sue; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2017, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Bondurant Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

No words can express anything near what the world feels with the loss of "Aunt Sharon". Although I'v only been around for the last 20 years I know she always made everything more fun and brighter when she was around. Truly a great loss! Love and prayers to you and the entire family.
