Harold Kibbe, 95, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Harold was born on August 21, 1912 in Des Moines. Harold was a member of Teamsters Local 147, and he retired after 31 years at Caldwell and Hartung. Harold recently resided the last two years at Ramsey Village.
He is survived by his children, Frances White, Mary Anne Porter, Phyllis Renteria and Janet Richey; brother, Jack Kibbe of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren, Kim Porter, Lyleann Richey, Diana Heggen, Cathie Meng, Neil Richey, all of Des Moines, and Harold Porter of Mazeppa, MN; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Vera.
Family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with a prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

I am very sad to hear about your father. My mother was also at Ramsey until November when she passed away. I will always remember your dad's smile. Every time I saw him he had a smile and a hello.

I love all you girls and I loved your Dad and Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. You all had great role models and I am sure you will be just as good at being parents. See you Saturday.
