Jeffrey Mark Young

Jeffrey Mark Young, 47, died, Monday, February 18, 2008 at home. Jeffrey was born on December 27, 1960.
Jeffrey was a graduate of Saydel High School. He spent 4 years in the United States Air Force stationed in Fayetteville, NC. He attained the rank of Sgt. There he met and married Tammy Hankins.
After discharge, Jeffrey, Tammy and son returned to Des Moines where he opened and ran a video rental business and a CD sales store. Both were located on the east side of Des Moines. He ran both those businesses until a motorcycle accident in 1991 that left him with a traumatic brain injury. He struggled with this injury for the rest of his life until he could struggle no more.
Jeffrey is survived by his 2 children: Bryan Young of Murfreesboro, TN and Meagan Arledge of Hohenwald TN. He also leaves the mother of his children, Tammy Young of Hohenwald, TN and a new grandson, Hunter Arledge of Hohenwald, TN. Jeffrey leaves behind his mother, Barbara Young and his brother, Brett Young, both of Ankeny; grandmother, Mary Belle Six of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Young of Berwick whom he talked of and missed every day.
Jeffrey leaves many friends saddened by his death and we all hope he can now attain the peace he so deserved. He was loved very much by so many people and will be missed desperately.
Family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines.
Per Jeffrey’s request, there will be no funeral service and he will be cremated following the gathering of friends and family.

JEFF YOU WERE THE BEST PERSON AND BOSS ANYONE COULD HAVE. I WILL MISS YOUR SMILE-LAUGHTER-MORE THEN YOU WILL EVER KNOW. MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOUR FAMILY AS WELL I LOST MY FATHER THIS WEEK ALSO. Barb & Brett - I'm deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Jeff's death. You all hold a very special place in my heart. Hoping you find comfort in the fact that he's back in Ron's arms again. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I use to work with Jeff at the Video Store PT. He was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss him deeply. My father has passed this week and is at Hamilton's as well Gaylord T. Brooks. I know the pain your family is experiencing. I will always remember Jeff as a handsome young man with a great smile and funny sense of humor.
