Donald "Don" Killen

Donald “Don” G. Killen, 57, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017, at his home in Des Moines. He was born February 1, 1960 to John and Betty Killen in Des Moines.
Don owned Don’s Tire on the eastside of Des Moines for 32 years. Family meant everything to Don and he loved spending time with his grandkids. He was passionate about stock car racing and was a two-time Track Champion at the I.S.F.
Don is survived by his children, Randy (Candie) Killen, Cory (Danielle) Adams, Mandy Killen and Michelle Killen; grandchildren, Caitlin, Sabrina, Courtney, Brandy, Tori, Riley, Violet, Mary, Cory Jr. and Autumn; siblings, Vern “Buck” (Linda) Killen, Linda Reed and Eddie (Pam) Killen; and numerous extended family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Terri; son, Little Donnie; parents, John and Betty Killen; brothers, John Killen, Tom Killen and Bill Killen; father-in-law, Sid Smith; brother-in-law, Buck Reed; nieces, Barbara Killen and Carol Kalar; and an infant nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow in the Carlisle Township Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

I am so sorry I couldn't be there for any of the services. I wanted to be there, but had to work. Sure gonna miss this ol' cus!!! Good 'ol "East Side" Man!!!! They just don't make 'em like this any more. "Glad your back with Terri, Donnie. You are right where you are meant to be". My thoughts and prayers go out and up for all of the family. Too much loss, too close together. Love you guys!!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the Killen family. Don't was always happy everytime I went to his house either for visiting with the family or going to the big Easter party. Michelle Courtney and Tori I'm so sorry. You guys had a rough year.
