Rebecca (Rivas) Kellis was born of God on August 20, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Trinidad Maria (Martinez) Rivas. She was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. She was employed in the customer service department for Walmart for almost 15 years. Rebecca was a member of Church of Christ in Milo, Iowa. She loved her family above all else and liked spending time gardening, cooking and baking. Rebecca was a very sassy, friendly lady.
Rebecca passed away peacefully due to a heart ailment with her loving family by her side on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the age of 61. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, Monday, August 7, also at Hamilton’s, and will conclude with burial at Altoona Cemetery, Altoona.
Rebecca is survived by her beloved husband, Steven; children, Trina Jackson (Billy), Lloyd Lee Jr. (Penny) and Joshua Lee (Lisa); grandchildren, Cody (Brooke), Kendall (Josh), Brittany (Randy), Cassie, Cash, Danielle, Brody and Karissa; great-grandchildren, Liam and DeVante; siblings, Mary Furry, Fred Rivas, Vicki Rivas, Anita Petty, Laurance Rivas and Joe Rivas; her fur babies, Chance and Luke; and many other loving extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Trinidad Rivas; grandson, Matthew; and granddaughter, Megan.

Becky and I were friends since we were in Jr. High at Harding. I will miss her friendly smile at Wal-Mart every time I am their. She was always a good friend. So sorry for her family. She will be dearly missed.
