James Short

James P. Short, 65, of Des Moines, Iowa died on December 5, 2006 at his home. Graveside military funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Friday at Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from6-8 PM Thursday evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Jim was a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the Iowa Air National Guard, where he had served for 39 years and won numerous awards. After his retirement from the Iowa Air National Guard on April 13, 1997 he enjoyed helping friends and neighbors, working with computers, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife Judi, his sister Mary Kenyon of Des Moines, his special constant companion Empress Ebony Ann Short as well as his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Nora Short, his brother Donald Short and his sister Barbara Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Squadron Educational Scholarship.
