Albert Griebe

Al Griebe died January 14, 2008 at his home in Hartford. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Friday, January 18th at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Avon Cemetery. A visitation will be from 12 PM until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Al was born May 16, 1929 in Detroit, MI. He was an Air Force Veteran and a truck driver for his entire life. He retired in 1992 from Midwest Drivers (3M) and was a member of the Teamsters Local 147. He enjoyed Nascar Racing (Kasey Kahne), Figure 8 racing, Prairie Meadows and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughters, Shirley Griebe of Bay City, MI, Cynthia “Tokey Sue” (Rick) Owens of Pleasantville, IA; Sons, Albert (Tricia) Griebe Jr. of Des Moines, IA. Morgan (Mel) Griebe of Pleasant Hill, IA; Sister Lou Ann Lawler of Alger, MI; Sister in Law, Evelyn Griebe of Essexville, MI; 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 daughters, 1 son, and 1 grandson.
We would like to thank Niki “Sunshine”, Sue. Mc., Sue M. and the rest of the staff at Mercy Hospice; and Rita and the staff at the VA Hospital.
In leiu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
