June Reese

June Reese, age 96, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2017. She was born the daughter of Emery and Florence Kinsel on November 29, 1920 in Hampton, Iowa.

June graduated from Hampton High School in 1939. In 1940 she married the love of her life, James and the two of them remained life-long residents of Des Moines. June was the cafeteria manager for Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company. She was an amazing homemaker, who took great pride in having a spotless house. June enjoyed being outdoors, planting flowers, raking the yard, trips to the flea market, and garage sales. Some of her hobbies and interests included, her love for watching state basketball, and everything the Iowa State Fair had to offer! Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving son, Terry (Carol) Reese; grandson, Rick (Christine) Reese; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Ava Reese; and son-in-law, John Everson.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James; daughter, Elaine; granddaughter, Laura; parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
