Stanley Clyde Yenzer, age 87, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at University Park Nursing and Rehab in Des Moines.
Stanley was born March 11, 1930, in Valley Junction, Iowa, to Henry and Margaret (Breese) Yenzer. He graduated from East High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His main occupation throughout his lifetime was as a welder. Stanley was a sprint car driver in his younger years and worked as a mechanic on race cars. He loved spending time at the Knoxville Raceway. Stanley also enjoyed fishing and listening to country music.
He is survived by his children, Bruce Yenzer, Susan (Ray) Crowe, Shelly (Bill) Buley, Sandy (James) Grisham, and Julie (Barry) Yenzer, 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Stanley was preceded in death by his son, Larry Yenzer, daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Yenzer, and his siblings, Orville (Arline) James, Keith (Ethlyn) James, Ronald (Sally) Yenzer, Gerald Yenzer and Maxine (Reuben) Yenzer-Scheffers.
There will be a graveside service Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in the military section of Glendale Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m.

Rhonda and I miss you so much i am glad I got to say good bye. My heart goes to your family cause they lost a Angel. I wish I could of been at your service.
