Richard Stradley

Richard Stradley, 80, died at his home Saturday, December 15, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Richard was born March 20, 1927 in Swan, IA to Carl and Georgia Stradley. He was a Navy veteran. Richard retired from the Des Moines Fire Department as a Lieutenant after 31 years of service. He was a Little League Manager and Board Member, a Boy Scout Leader, PTA Board Member, a member of the Fire Department Local #4, American Legion Baldwin Patterson Post #274, Masonic Lodge and Force One.
Richard is survived by his wife of 58 Years, Betty; children, Kathy (Roger) Cox, Dick (Kathy) Stradley and Bob (Sandi) Stradley; grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Long, Todd Long, B.J. (Jaime) Stradley, Rick (Sara) Stradley and Bobbie Stradley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Walter Stradley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Des Moines Fire Department Memorial Fund or Mercy Hospice.
