James Marcum, 42, of Des Moines, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines. James will be cremated with a memorial visitation held from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday, December 15 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 S.W. 9th Street. A graveside service will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, IA.
James was born in Des Moines on May 4, 1965 to Frank and Bessie Marcum. James enjoyed fishing and Civil War history.
James is survived by his wife Candy, daughter; Jordan, son; Ben, sister; Martha (Don) Brumley, brothers; Eugene (Nancy) Curry, Junior (Deb) Brewer and Hezy (Delores) Marcum. James is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bessie. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in memory of James.

It saddens me to know that I lost my uncle and I never got the chance to meet him. My dad Frank Jr. is also sadden to hear this news.
