Martha “Jean” Mosness, 82, passed away April 29, 2017 at Iowa Lutheran.
Jean was born August 30, 1934 in Des Moines to Samuel and Mary (Russo) Coakley. She was a teacher for Montessori & More Preschool. Jean was a loving and caring person with a heart of gold.
Jean is survived by her husband, Bill Mosness; brothers, Albert (Carolyn) Coakley and Ron (Kristen) Feucaloro; grandson, Troy DeFrancisco; and a host of extended family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, JoLynn DeFrancisco; and son, Guye DeFrancisco.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5th at the funeral home followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Jean was like a mam am to our son Dan more than 50 years ago. We became friends through my aunt Phyllis Elwell. There were times of laughter and time of tears. I will miss her infectious smile and caring heart. Love you Mama Jean

To Willie,Troy and Glenda and Jean's family and friends. I share your loss. Thinking of you all. May it comfort you to know Jean will be missed by all. She was loved and a very dear lady. We were blessed to have her in our lives. Remember the good times and cherish her life as I will.
