Karyl Burriola, age 74, passed away on April 28, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She was born of October 6, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Karyl had a heart of gold and it was so evident, she was the one person anyone could go to when they needed someone to talk to or had a problem, she always had a way of making everything better. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family especially her grandchildren they were her entire world.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Becky Burriola (Don); sons, Sonny (Jonette) Burriola and Joe Burriola; grandchildren, Jessica, Kadi, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Lili, Hailey, Charlie, Jaxson, Harrison, George and one on the way; sisters, Marilynn Ubaldo and Judy Wilson; and a host of other loving relatives and many friends.

Karyl was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marty Burriola; parents, Beverlyn and Frank Cosper; and her brothers, Ronnie, Gary, and Randy Cosper.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Rd, Des Moines, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday, May 3rd from 5 to 7 p.m. with a vigil service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
