Molly Roth, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA and the funeral service on Wednesday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines.
Molly was born February 25, 1985 in Iowa City to Steve and Kathy Puhl Scanlon. She graduated from Columbus High School in Waterloo, IA in 2003 and the University of Iowa in 2007 where she earned her Bachelor’s in Marketing. She married Jamison Roth on August 13, 2011. Molly was employed at the HyVee Conference Center in West Des Moines as a Sales Manager for 6 years, Sales Manager for NCG Group (Hampton Inn) for 1 year, and most recently for Principal Financial Group.
She is survived by her husband, Jamison Roth; her children, Jaxon James and Gracelyn Marie Roth; her parents, Steve and Kathy Scanlon of Waterloo, IA; brother, Christopher (Lucy) Scanlon and their daughter, Stacey of Aurora, IL; brother, Nicholas Scanlon of Waterloo, IA; mother-in-law, Rachel Roth of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Rehgan (Lance) Shively and their son, Sebastian of Des Moines; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her doggies, Charlie and Buster.
Molly loved her family beyond measure. Her husband and children were her absolute joy. Her infectious smile and bubbly personality encircled all who knew her. She will be so very greatly missed.

Molly was beautiful inside and out. I always enjoyed hanging out with her while our brothers were in sports or at boy scouts... even if it was just sitting in the Scan van until it was time to go. She had an infectious smile and a big heart.

My heart has been aching since I heard the news of Molly's passing. May everyone that was touched by her wonderful personality find peace during this difficult time. Hold onto each other for strength and support.
I did not know Molly very well, but we have mutual friends (Jen Higgins, Jessica Thorne, etc) in the Des Moines area. She was always a bright ray of sunshine and joy.

Molly was a year younger than my sister (Christy Haas) in school at BS. I didn't know Molly since I was 6 years older, but I remember her and that beautiful smile. So very sorry for your loss!

To Molly's family and parents, and children: I taught Molly band in MS and she was a lovely young gal full of energy and life! I know that she will be missed by all of you. God has his own plan for Molly. Believe in all the good that will come from her life here on earth and always look forward to the things you can see each day around you that will bring back all the good memories of her. My heart goes out to the Scanlon and Roth families. Molly made such an impression on me when she joined our staff as a student employee at the College of Business. Her attitude was infectious, and really a pure joy to be around. I kept up with her through the years with our shared love of beagles, and always enjoyed her Charlie posts on social media. I know she was an amazing daughter, wife, and mother and I hope her family finds peace and understanding as they work their way through their grief. Many prayers are with you.

I met Molly when she was working at Hy-Vee. Molly was such a kind, loving and caring person. Her smile was so breathtaking and infectious. Thinking of all her family and close friends at this very difficult time.

My heart breaks for you Jamison. I meet alot of couples in my line of work. The both of you left a warm impression. I loved bumping into Molly at the Hy Vee shows in the past. Molly lit up a room with her smile and bubbly personality. Sending hugs and prayers to you, your kids and family.

We have really fond memories of Molly when she was a young girl. She was a very good friend of our daughter and we have many photos of her. We are sad that her life was so short, but we are certain that she touched many and will be missed so very much. We are praying for every family member and friend who feels a hole in their heart right now - that they will be able to continue on and see the wonder that Molly brought into their lives.
