Rowena Jane Hale, age 88, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Des Moines Rehab. She was born December 22, 1928, to Steve and Jane (Lee) Garman in Mystic, Iowa.
Rowena is survived by her children, Bernie (Maria) Hale, Lana Wonders-Hemann, and Anita Parker; 13 grandchildren, Tracy, Nicole, Daniel, Derek, Megan, Justin, Wes, Emily, Brian, Jeff, Jennifer, Jessica, and Janice; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janice and Dorothy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; parents, Steve and Jane Garman; brother, Steve Garman, Jr.; and two sons, Steven and Wesley.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2017 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Graveside committal service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 3601 East Court Avenue, Des Moines.

my prayers and thoughts are with each of you as you go through this time in your life. I didnt know your mom all that well but kind of grew up with you kids.Just remember all the good thing that she stood for, and that shes in a very beautiful place now with the ones who went before her. My heart goes out to each of you.
