Gerald Cornish, 72, passed away Friday, November 30, 2007 at home with his family. Jerry was born and raised in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He married Margaret Ruby in 1956 and lived in the Detroit area with his family until 1983 when the couple moved to Des Moines. Jerry was a professional in sales and a devoted husband and father. His family was his priority in life; he based all his decisions on their well being and took pride in providing for them. He was a passionate outdoorsman. Hunting, especially in the north woods of Michigan, was one of his favorite activities. He also enjoyed working outdoors and with vehicles.
Jerry’s love, strength, and humor will be missed and remembered by his wife, Margaret; his daughters, Cindy Cornish and Vicky (Daniel) Friedrich; his sons, Jonathan (Rochelle) Cornish and Barry (Vicki) Cornish; his sister, Joanne (Jerry) Hoffman; and five grandchildren, Brandi Muller, and Sara, Amanda, Michael, and Austin Cornish.
Visitation is Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., family present from 6 to 8 p.m., prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Clinton Grove Cemetery in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

I feel so privileged to have known Gerry and his family. He will be missed by all who knew him and especially those at LPB. My heart-felt condolences go out to his family.
