So saddened to hear of Jack's death! He was one of our tenants in our apartments and my family grew to love him as if he belonged in our family! He always had a story for us...and you couldn't help but laugh...even when another tenant had ticked him off!!! Just thinking about it makes me giggle! The sweetest, most kind hearted man will be missed by many of us in Algona! RIP dear Jack! Fly high....

Dear jack,
I don't know where I'd be today without you in my life. You've been my neighbor my whole entire life. You were a grandpa to me. I went from hiding behind my parents because I was scared of you to talking hours on end with you. Remember when you told everyone I was your girlfriend? You were gone for a week and right before you came home I wrote, "welcome home boyfriend" on paper and taped it to your door. I remember you'd always tell me to stop sticking my tongue out or a bird will poop on it. I'm going to miss seeing you walk outside to get the mail, so I'd step out the door and yell "Hi Jack!" And you would just point at me and keep walking. I remember when I found out you were sick, I helped you moved a few things out so you could take with you. Saturday the 14th we all came down to see you, and say our goodbyes. You were determined that you were going to get better and go home. Leaving the hospital room we were all crying because you mean so much us. To my family. We've even had you come over for Christmas dinner and thanksgiving. Ill always remember your last words to me. "I love you." I'm going to miss you so much.

Hey Jackie!
It's me, your little sister. I know you asked for no service at all and only cremation, and you KNOW I respect that as we talked about this over and over again when we were taking care of mom and dad for years. I was always extremely close to you, but became closer through those years. You were more of a father to me than our dad, and I thanked God every day in the past several years that I was fortunate enough to have such a loving, giving, and caring brother. Words will never be able to express just how very much I loved you, and how huge a void I feel in my life. You were the one person who never judged me, and always loved me, and for that, I was deeply blessed and extremely grateful. You fought such a gallant fight against the disease that took you from us, right up to the end. I could say so much more, as a matter of fact, probably write a novel on what you meant to me growing up, and how wonderful you always were to both my sister and I. Emily Shutter was so upset after she heard of your passing, she wrote a beautiful tribute to you on her FB page. I don't believe you even know the number of people you touched in this world. You were, and are truly a great, great man. Will miss you brother John! Forever in my heart until we meet again, your little sis.
