Virginia Mary Comito of Norwalk Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 17, 2016 while wintering in Arizona. Virginia was born in Des Moines, IA on October 26, 1946 to Joe and Angie Russo.
She was married to John Comito on November 28, 1964. They made their home in Des Moines for many years, eventually moving to Norwalk in 1996.
Virginia enjoyed spending her time caring for her family, baking and cooking, growing flowers and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, John; children; Frank (friend Crystal), Mark (Jenni), and Chris; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her father, Joe Russo; her siblings, Joe Russo Jr, Jim (Dee) Russo, Nick (Ellen) Russo, Jonine (Roger) Lafoon; her best friend, Cathy Blades; and many other loving family and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Angie Russo, and brother, Dino Russo.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St in Des Moines, IA on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

I was sadden to hear of Virginia's passing. We went through school together and our sons played baseball together. Sadly it has been many years since we have seen each other, but I have thought about her often. My thoughts and prayers our with her family...
