Irwin Abram, 100, of Scottish Rite Park died November 26, 2007. After a private family service and interment, a thanksgiving celebration will be held at the Scottish Rite Park.
Irwin (Abe) was born August 24, 1907 in Colfax, Iowa. He was married for 60 years to Phyllis Gibson until her death in 1992.
Irwin graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School. He later received his bachelor’s degree from Drake University at the age of 67. He retired as a vice-president from Central National Bank after 43 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII with the Pacific Fleet transporting troops. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.
Irwin is survived by his daughter, Mardelle (Ray) Oakley of Urbandale; two sons, Donald (Jeannette) Abram of Greenwood Village, CO and David (Joan) Abram of Urbandale.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Johns Lutheran Church or to Scottish Rite Good Brotherhood Fund.
