Loon Khambanoun

Loon Khambanoun, age 62, was born January 2, 1954 in Na Chieng Dee, Laos to Oun and One Khambanoun. He passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Loon was a member of the Tai Dam Village and the Lao Lue Community. He served in the Laos military before immigrating to the United States. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and partying with his friends.

Loon is survived by his spouse, Bouathong Khambanoun; his children, Sy Khambanoun, Pom Khambanoun, Chanh Nang Inthabounh, and Keola Ung; 12 grandchildren; 6 niece; 4 nephews; and numerous other extended family and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the service. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Glendale Cemetery in the Tai Dam section.
