Dolores Anne Blount, 73, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church where a vigil service will be held at 7pm.
Dolores was born October 21, 1934 in Queens Village, NY to Mary and Herman Wuensche. She worked for Qwest as an analyst for over 30 years. Dolores lived in Des Moines since 1958. Dolores was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She loved her dog, Jessie.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy of Des Moines, Cindy of Des Moines and Janet of Denver, CO; her sons, Douglas (Jo Anne) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Gary (Lisa) Blount of Hastings, MN.; 3 grandchildren, Diana, Matthew and Mikaela,; her brother, Louis Weunsche of Hampton Bays, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth , her sister Jane Kuhn.

I wish to send my sincere condolences to the entire Blount family, Nancy (and daughter Diana),Cindy, Janet, Doug and JoAnne, Gary, Lisa, Mikaela and Matthew on the death of your mother(and grandmother), Dolores. I have so many fond memories of great family times with your mother, our "Auntie" Dolores. I will miss her dearly. I wish I could have come to the wake and funeral to give my condolences in person, but it was not possible. Wendy, Eileen, and Danielle wanted to go, too. Your cousin, Herman, will be there to represent our family.
