Billy L. Green, 85, of Johnston died November 22, 2007 at the Bishop Drumm Care Center following a long illness.
Billy was born August 3, 1922 in McCool Junction, Nebraska to George and Amelia Green. He was one of 11 children. Following graduation, Billy served in the U.S. Army 9th Armored Division and saw action including the Battle of the Bulge and the Remagen Bridge Campaigns of WW II. He was a member of the VFW Post 131L and American Legion Post 0663.
Billy was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth in 1966 and his second wife, Marie in 2004. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Sheila) Green of Lincoln, NE, Gary (Lois) Green of Kansas City, MO and Jim Green of Green Valley, AZ; step-sons, Donald (Cheryl) Born of Streamwood, IL and Jon Born of Urbandale, IA; brother, Robert (Sharlee) Green of Lincoln, NE; and brother-in-law, Harley (Shirley) Bair of Lincoln, NE; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Bishop Drumm Chapel in Johnston with Father Tom DeCarlo presiding. Inurnment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in York, NE at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE with Pastor Harlan Heier presiding.
