Shirley Bassett

Shirley E. Bassett, 83, died on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Capitol Hill Christian Church, 3322 East 25th Street. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Shirley was born August 31, 1924 to William and Berdie Walls in Des Moines. She was a member of Capitol Hill Christian Church and the Pioneer Social Club.
Shirley is survived by her children, Sheryl (Steve) Hurd, John (Sandy) Bassett, Mark (Ginger) Bassett, and Brian Bassett; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, William Walls; and a host of cousins; nieces; nephews; and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Bassett.
Memorial contributions may be given to Capitol Hill Christian Church.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
