Dorothy Marie Maden

Dorothy Marie (Reed) Maden, 63, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Revival Center, 3816 36th Street, Des Moines with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. and funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Colfax Cemetery.
Dorothy was born December 26, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to Willard and Joyce (Francis) Reed. She married her lifelong friend, Terry Maden on February 14, 1992. She enjoyed shopping, riding motorcycles with Terry, and collecting clowns. She was a friendly, social person who liked talking to people. This made her an ideal fit for her job as a greeter and stocker at Walmart. Dorothy’s family meant the world to her and she would do anything for them. Her generous spirit will not be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Maden; children, Stephanie (Ricky) Smith, Bret Reed (Jamie Stephenson), Shawnice (Michael) Cameron, and Shelly Edwards; 34 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; mother, Joyce Reed; and siblings, Larry (Norris) Reed, Fonda (Craig) Martin, Susan Lynch, Sandy (Steve) Poindexter, Connie (Steve) Sandegren, and Michael Reed.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Willard Reed and her brother, Chuck Reed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Dorothy.

Dorothy was a kind, sweet lady. We will miss her here at Walmart. I know I will miss seeing her on my way out everynight and talking to her. She was loved and appreciated. May you rest in peace, sweet lady. I will pray for her friends and family during this difficult time.

Heaven has a new Angel today. Dorothy was born with her heart on the opposite side of her chest from the rest of us because God knew it would be too big for her chest. No one ever loved harder or was more devoted to the people in her life. I will miss you and love you always my friend.
