Carolyn Simpson

Carolyn Sue Simpson, 68, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016. She was born November 19, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio to Lewis and Blanche (Bassell) Markin. She was truly a friend to all. She was a genuine, kind person who never passed judgement on anyone. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and crocheting and she loved all animals. She liked watching western movies and cooking and home improvement shows.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Steve (Kathleen) Simpson and Tonia (Charlie) Neel; her siblings, Dale (Margaret) Markin, Karen Stout, Chris Markin, and Debbie Markin; 11 grandchildren; 11 ½ great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, also at Hamilton’s.
