Service Details
Ole Thompson, 92, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016. Ole was born December 22, 1923 in Grinnell, Iowa.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marylin; son, Dick (Lydia) Thompson; daughter, Rosalee (Jonnie) Driskill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Virgil; and sisters, Verna, Velda, and Wanda.
Ole was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Ollie Thompson; son, Larry Thompson; step-sons, Larry and Gary Young; brothers, Ray, Loren, and Oral Thompson; and sisters, Sharon and Glenda Thompson.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines on Monday, March 21, 2016 with visitation at 12 p.m. and the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

It was always nice to work with Ole when he came into the hardware store. Steve and I enjoyed visits with Ole and Marylin for the brief time we knew them. I feel that he really put his heart into this acreage. We hope he knew that we love it here, are taking very good care of it and plan to live here for a very long time. Our hearts and prayers go out to you in this time of loss.
