Lloyd Richards

Lloyd Delbert Richards, 88, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living.

Lloyd was born March 29, 1927 in Elsberry, Missouri to Lloyd L. and Sarah Richards. He graduated from Des Moines Technical High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Lloyd was stationed in Austria as a weather forecaster. He retired from R & R Donnely Publishing where he had worked as a pressman for many years. Lloyd was a member of Grace Church.

Lloyd is survived by his children, Lloyd “Jim” (Debra) Richards and Judith (John) McConnell; two grandchildren, Emily Richards and Schuyler Sampson; three great-grandsons; siblings, Mary Alice AuBuchon, Ellenora Portwood and Bonnie (Lowell) Simmons; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Mary Jane Richards and brother, Herbert Richards.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
