James “Jimmy” Lilly, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2016. He was born to Ruth M. Northway and Ernest H. Lilly on July 30, 1949. James had one older brother, Ernest O. Lilly; and two sisters, Kathy L. Lilly (Jeff) Clark and Grace M. Lilly (Randy) Grimm all from Des Moines, IA.

James was surrounded by his loved ones and always by his side was his life-long partner/old lady, Cynthia “Cindi” Nelson. James has four children, Ruthy Lilly Wheeler, Sherry Lilly Ward, Jim (Amber) Dey, and Rodney (Candace) Nelson. James was a proud “Poppa” of eight grandchildren, Eddie, Michael, Dylan, Tyler, Ryan, Caitlynn, Nathan, and Patrick.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; and his nephew, Zachary Lilly.

Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.
