Stacy Turpin

Stacy W. Turbin Jr., 66, died on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines from stomach cancer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial at McDonald-Chase Cemetery in Winterset. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Stacy was born June 4, 1940 in Los Angeles, California and raised by Tommie and Stacey Turpin. He served in the Marines from 1959-1963 and married Joyce Hamilton in 1981. Stacy worked as a mosquito sprayer for the San Joaquin Abatement County and Halley’s Crop Dusting Service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting; was a true cowboy; and a special stepfather.
Stacy is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Jerrie, Gordon, Tina, and Stacey Turpin; stepchildren, James and Brenda Kern, and Rose Brison; twelve grandchildren; sisters, Glenda Wells and Bernice McKim; brothers, Bob and Don Hamilton, and Burch Nueffer; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Stacey Turpin; and three sisters.
