Jo Anne Miller
Des Moines
Jo Anne Miller, 70, passed away from Pulmonary Hypertension on Saturday, August 15, 2015, and is now resting in the arms of the Lord.
Jo Anne was born September 15, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa to Joe Dillie and Mary Flanders. She lived in Des Moines her entire life. In 1963, Jo Anne married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Miller, and together they raised four children: Molly (Mike) DeHoyos, Robert Jr. (Marti) Miller, Jenny (George) Foltz, and Corinna (Dale) Hopkins.
She was a homemaker and took much pride in providing for Bob and their children. She looked forward each year to her involvement with MWBC. Jo Anne was a member of Church of Christ, took joy in sharing her biblical knowledge, and strived to encourage others to also have a relationship with God.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, her children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to PH Care Center, UI Heart & Vascular Center in Iowa City, to assist with research for Pulmonary Hypertension or Grandview Church of Christ.
Jo Anne’s faith was as strong as her heart. To many, she is lovingly remembered as a wonderful example of Proverbs 31.

I feel so blessed to have met Jo Anne she made a difference in my life. Her love of the Lord and devotion to family and friends was inspirational. She made everyone feel important to her, which they were always. The thing I remember most about her is she told me one time "You can tell me anything & I will not share it because I will forget what you told me as soon as we get done talking!". Then she laughed that infectious laugh of hers which I will never forget. She had such a calm spirit, she was a joy to know. She will be missed by the many lives she touched over the years. My prayers go out to the family during this time of sorrow.

Jodi, we hadn't been in touch in such a long time. We had shared so much during our treasured high school years together - the ups and downs of school, cheerleading and sometimes difficulties outside of school. I believe we were "sisters" in so many ways. Altho our lives took separate paths as adults, you will always remain a "star" in my special memories. I will see you again "one day"
