Cynthia Anne Goode, 52, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 3, 2015 unexpectedly due to natural causes. She was born October 20, 1962 to John and Mary Brouwer in Waterloo, Iowa.
Cyndi graduated from Columbus High School in Waterloo, 1981. She attended Hawkeye Community College receiving her AA in Nursing in 1989. In 2010 she earned her BS in Nursing from University of Phoenix. Cyndi was a nurse for 31 years. She devoted the majority of her career at Broadlawns Medical Center. She enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, cooking and was a voracious reader. Cyndi had a kind heart and will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jeffrey; children, Kristy (Bryan) Hall, Justin Goode and Cressie Goode; grandchildren, Carson, Drake, Jude Hall and Jacob Goode; father, John Brouwer; sisters, Julie (Scott) Martinson and Laurie (Brian) Chenoweth; many nephews; numerous friends; and her beloved dogs, Penny and Baxter. Cyndi was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Brouwer.
Family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th St. SW in Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8th at the church with burial to follow at Rising Sun Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family to be designated to various charities in loving memory of Cyndi.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Cyndi. She served on the Professional Council at Broadlawns of which I also attended. She was very professional and extremely knowledgable in her profession. I felt honored to learn from her. She always spoke with great pride of her family and the activities they participated in. I am so sorry for your loss Jeff and family. I have seldom known anyone who loved her family and was so proud of you all as Cyndi was. She will always be your angel watching over you all.

Cyndi Lou Who you were my best everything for more years than either of us will admit. The best roomie, best hang out and play friend, the most fun listening to you laugh person. I will never again know anyone that was more proud or more loving to her family. Cynd you are the one person who loved with all your heart, without hesitation, and with more grace than anyone could ever fathom. We both know that we tried the patience of our guardian angels but now I know that you were just learning the ropes to be the best of the best at God's side. You could have let me in on that one. I love you Cyndi Lou. I will keep you with me always.

I've know Cyndi since the first day I walked into a new school in 5th grade. We shared alot of firsts together....first concert, first day of high school, graduation, marriages, etc. We made a point of getting together, most of the time, when I'd head home for a visit.
I'm going to miss her laugh, her smile and her loving nature. I Loved hearing her talk about you all, your vacations, your achievements, etc. She beamed with pride when speaking of you and I know she's still watching over each of you and seeing your achievements in the future.

I was so upset to learn of Cyndi's passing. We were classmates at Columbus and I was happy to re-connect with her on social media - we had plans to get together "one of these days". Very upset with myself that hadn't happened yet. I really enjoyed Cyndi's attitude toward many things in life, and especially how much she enjoyed being a wife and mom. I'm so very sorry for your loss; you have my sympathy and prayers.

I was so sorry to hear about Cyndi"s passing. I knew her the entire time she was at Broadlawns. We shared the same birthday. Cyndi was a lovely person and will be missed. Prayers to her family.

To my family I'm sorry for your loss. I know how much she loved all of you. Jeff you were her best friend and loving husband. Cressie she was so proud of you and couldn't help brag about all of your talents. Kristy and Bryan you both gave her so much joy and laughter.
