Gerald Lyle Iseminger, 76, passed away at Taylor House Hospice, November 23, 2006, after a long battle with diabetes.
Gerald was born in Monteith, Iowa on December 13, 1929 to Charles and Alice (Orton) Iseminger. In 1947, Gerald graduated from Panora High school. After graduation, he served in the Navy for four years during the Korean War. On September 12, 1953, Gerald and Marilyn Shroyer were married. He retired from the post office in 1991. Gerald enjoyed riding his Gold Wing to various Wing Dings, gardening, spending time with his family, and playing pool at the senior center.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 53 years, his brother, Charles Iseminger of Greeley, Colorado, two daughters, Sondra (Richard) Carnahan of Bondurant and Debra (Malcolm) Chase of Des Moines and a son, Ronald Iseminger of Des Moines. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pearl, brothers, James, Vernon and infant brother Beryl.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens at 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Services will be held Monday, November 27th, at 10:00 at The Church or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The chapel is located at 721 East 1st Street in Ankeny, IA. Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery following the services.
