Robert Donald Decker

Robert Donald Decker passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior March 6, 2015

Robert was born to Frances Graham and Cecil Decker. He was married June 7, 1975 to Doris Decker. He is survived by his wife and wonderful daughter Sarah Decker.

He served proudly for 20 years for his country in the US Navy. His accomplishments are listed on the Navy Log at the Lone Sailor Museum and website. After the Navy he worked for the Veteran’s Hospital and then the US Postal Service at the Des Moines Bulk Mail Center. He proudly served as a Member of the VFW Post 9668. He enjoyed working the polls on Election Days.

His favorite thing was telling people about Jesus and asking if they were ready to enter Heaven that day. He always asked everyone this question and even strangers. He loved mentoring the men at Door of Faith and ministering for Commerce Community Church at Bethel Mission once a month.

He graduated from Kingway Theological Bible College with a Doctorate of Theology degree. He loved to travel, read, and play games on the computer and IPad. He enjoyed listening to Rev. Jimmy Swaggart and reading the Word of the Lord often throughout a day. Which was then discussed weekly at the Friday “Men’s Coffee” at HyVee. He was a member of Commerce Community Church.

Robert has been a great loving husband and so proud of being a father to his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, and beloved pets: Brownie, Charlie and Lady.
