I saw this in the sunday paper and wanted to send to your family our deepest sympathies.
Here is a passage i took great comfort in when i lost my mom and again when my dad passed.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

My Aunt Carla is the epitome of FUN, while being ornery with smart sarcasm (sometimes shocking!), a kind heart, youthful nature and generous spirit. She had an open door for everyone and would readily prepare food with a smile. The 3 sisters together (Sue, Carla & Judy..my mom) were a sight to behold and a joy to be around...those memories will hug us when needed and put solace in our hearts.

I was given my name by my mom to honor her sister, Carla, whom she absolutely adored. They were partners-in-crime as children and best friends as adults. They were blessed with a lifetime together of happy, wonderful memories. Aunt Carla was a remarkable woman. She put family first and was a fierce, loyal friend. Her exuberant passion for life was truly a joy to behold. I remember her zany antics now wistfully and fondly. She battled her cancer as she lived her life: honestly and with great bravery and humor. We are all better people for having her in our lives.
