Raymond Louis Morales

Raymond Louis Morales, 85, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014. He was born March 28, 1929 to Phillip and Daisy Morales in Milo, Iowa.

Raymond enlisted in the Marine Corps and proudly served his country. He enjoyed working for the Des Moines Public School System for 18 years and was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church. Raymond was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR and John Wayne movies. Above all else, he loved and cherished spending his time with his family.

Raymond is survived by his loving children, LaJean (Michael) Reed, Penny (John) Connett, and Charles (Tonia) Morales; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe; parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Raymond.
