Ralph H. Brindley a former resident of St. Ann, MO passed away on December 25, 2014 at the age of 92 in Des Moines.

Born in St. Louis the son of Ralph Harold and Genevieve (Hanrahan) Brindley. He was the beloved husband of Eula Imogene (Woodruff) Brindley who preceded him in death. The beloved father of Beverly (Michael) Harcourt of Des Moines, IA, Ralph (Norine) Brindley of Stallings, NC and Richard (Karen) Brindley of Columbia, MO. Grandfather of Timothy, Krystal and Douglas Harcourt of Des Moines, IA and Kevin Brindley of Stallings, NC; great-grandfather, of Colin, Cora, Zach, Jonah, Autumn, and Rosalie; and great-great-grandfather of Jayce and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Donald Brindley and he leaves behind many friends as well as many nieces and nephews.

He joined the US Army Air Corp prior to World War II, was a bomber pilot throughout the war and was thought to be the last surviving member of his unit. He retired from the Terminal Railroad of St. Louis and was active in the retired members association. For many years he taught gymnastics and instructed Tai Chi classes in the north county St. Louis area. He also was an avid runner and a member of the St. Louis Track Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Hospice.

Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines and Collier’s Funeral Home in St. Ann, MO, where a memorial service will be held the day after Ralph is laid to rest with his beloved wife Eula at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
