Donna Elliott-Henderson

Donna Elliott-Henderson, 82, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 28, 2014 at her home from complications of a stroke. She was born October 20, 1932 to Floyd and Dorothy (Lynch) Quick in Des Moines.

Donna graduated from East High School. She worked many years as a medical billing specialist at Des Moines General Hospital and Anesthesiologist Affiliated from which she retired.

Donna was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was an avid reader who loved cooking and baking for others.

Donna is survived by her children, Susan Main, Judy (Ric) Yingling, John (Kim) Elliott, Sr., and Jennifer (Larry) Peters; daughter-in-law, Rita Elliott; fifteen grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Dale Elliott; second husband, Wayne Henderson; son, Steven Elliott Sr., grandsons, Steven Elliott, Jr., John Elliott, Jr., and Justin Elliott; great-grandsons, Mason Elliott and Hunter Buckroyd; and sister, Carolyn Hendrickson.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family which will be donated to her favorite charities at a later time.
