Emmie A. Foxhoven, 77, of West Des Moines, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Emmie was born April 10, 1937 in Sheldon, Iowa to Johannes “Joe” and Mary Wesselink (Sage). Emmie retired from Mercy Medical Center. She is remembered as a very loving and kind person. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her true love Robert.
Emmie is survived by her husband, Robert Foxhoven; sons, Daryle (Penny), David (Karen), Dennis (Kathy), Bruce (Lisa), Robert (Janis), Brad (Colleen); daughter, Julie (Brian) Kent; grandchildren, Danny, Valerie, Nichole, Amanda, Steve, Ashley, Adam, Kelly, John, Shaun, Kindra, and Sara; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Harold; sister, Ardeth; daughters, Diana and Lori; and grandson, Joshua.
Emmie’s funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association.

Emmie, you are now my angel who is looking down on me until it's my turn to join you. While you were here you were an inspiration to your children and adored by your loving husband Bob. We miss you.
