Pamela S. Thompson, 60, was born March 9, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her extensive and loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; sons, Scott Wheeler and Paul (Roxy) Wheeler; grandchildren, Alexander, Brandon, Zachary, Madlyn, Landon, Paige, Sebrina, and Deanna; and great-granddaughter, Jaylin. She is also survived by her siblings, Sheri Wagner, Jean Grimm, Julie Risius, Sandi Newton, Toni Davis, Tom Davis, Todd Davis, LuAnn Grimm, David Wheeler, Peter Wheeler, Roger Wheeler, Johnny Wheeler, Dee Carr, Donna Ites, and Denise Bull.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernie Wheeler; mother, Gloria Davis; and brother, Ray Grimm.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 12:30 Friday at Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Words cannot express how I feel today, cause we lost a wonderful woman who touched so many lives. I may not have seen much of my brother Terry or sister Pam, but they were always in my thoughts and my heart. We lost a wonderful woman but gained an angel in heaven to watch over us all. So when you think of Pam or remember something about her, just know she will always be with you in spirit rooting you on in whatever life throws at you. I pray every night that you my brother, Terry, newphews Paul and Scott that somehow the pain will ease up at some point in time. If you ever need to talk, I will always be here. So keep your chins up cuz that is what Pam would want. God Bless you all. I love you very much.

We will always love Aunt Pammie that will never stop.We want Uncle Terry,Scott,and Paul to know that if you need anything we are here for you and that we are sorry for your loss. We love you guys.

Terry, and the Thompson family and friends, I wish there were spoken words or actions I could take to ease the weight of the sorrow you're feeling right now. Know that within each other, together, the strength to get through this darkness will combine to help you weather this sadness. Lean on each other, hug each other, and the memory of Pamela's love will get you through.

Dear Terry, Paul and Scott
My heart is breaking and thinking of all of you every waking moment, your in my prayers that your pain and sadness will slowly turn into smiles and happiness cuz that what Pam would want. She would want all of you to remember, the memories within your hearts. I will miss you my dear sister but I no I will see you again so spread your wings and watch over all of us. love you
