Deanna (Coleman) Hassett, 76, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Deanna was born October 6, 1937 in Goshen, Indiana, the daughter of James and Iris (Bettis) Coleman. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and past president of the Holy Trinity Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed Iowa football, games, sewing, and her family.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Jerry Hassett; children, David (Chanda) Hassett and Kimberly (Steven) Hodges; grandchildren, J.T., Charley, and Kaitlyn; siblings, Ronald (Kathy) Coleman, Larry (Mary Rose) Coleman, and Vicki Ann (Michael) Scholer; nieces and nephews, Annie Broos, Chris Coleman, Teri Siembieda, Tommy Coleman, Ronda Rottjakob, Patsy Piazza, Lori McCarl, Jason Coleman, Morgan Coleman, Andrea Carver, Robert Hassett, Jr., Pam Princ, Linda Roth, Heather Miller, and Lindsay Popp; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James R. Coleman; mother, Iris Bonita Bettis; and nephew, Jamie Coleman.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Avenue, with private family burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
