Willard "Willie" Stowers

Willard W. “Willie” Stowers, 64, of Pleasantville, IA was born October 25, 1942 in Glen Allen, MO and passed into the presence of our Lord on August 28, 2007. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2007 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines.
Willie, a veteran of the U.S. Army retired from United Parcel Service after 30 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, old tractors and model planes. Willie will be remembered for his generosity and his willingness to help anyone in need.
Willie is survived by his daughter, Connie Israel; son, David Stowers; seven grandchildren, Tierney, Morgan, Kristin, Kourtney, Rhiannon, Elijah and Joshua; sister, Paula McDonald; four brothers, David, Bill, Earl and Paul Stowers; and his former wife, Kay Stowers. He was preceded in death by his father, James Stowers; his mother, Lillian McDonald; brother, Jim; and grandson, Jacob.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
